Using Your ezboard Control Center
Once logged in you will see your "Control Center" with navigation located at the top. This is where you can try out some of the exciting personalization features ezboard has to offer. A detailed help page for this feature can be accessed by clicking "help" on the forum. Below are answers to some common questions.
- Choosing "personal" will take you to a page filled with customizable features including a personal icon (a small image that will appear next to any messages that you post) and custom signature.
- Choosing 'favorites' allows you to bookmark your favorite ezboard communities. After a community is marked as a favorite, you will have a link within the 'favorites' page that you can click to go directly to this community.
- The system will automatically make a URL web address into a link. All you have to do is type out the URL with the "http://" in lowercase, (e.g. http://www.ezboard.com) and make sure there is a space before and after and the URL.
- The system will automatically make emails into email links. Just type out the email address (e.g. email@ezboard.com) and make sure there is a space before and after it.
- To include an image, use the standard HTML image tag. Make sure you type the letters in lowercase. Do NOT use the quote character ( " ).
- All registered ezboard users can have a personal icon placed next to their name when they post. ezboard supplies a collection of personal icons that you can choose from at: http://www.ezboard.com/globalIcons.html. Once you find an icon that you like, copy down it's URL. Then go to your Control Center and click on 'Personal'. Look for the 'Edit Preferences' link and click on it. Next, find the heading "Personal Icon" and type in the URL of your icon.
- You may have a personal photo (no larger than 60 pixels X 60 pixels) appear beside all your posts. You must have your photo uploaded to your own server and link off it. Go to your Control Center and click on the 'Personal' button. Look for the 'Edit Preferences' link and click on it. Next, find the heading "Personal Photo" and type in the URL of your image. Finally, check off the 'use personal photo' option box and click on the 'submit' button at the bottom of the page.
- If you want your email address available to the public, then include it in your Public Profile. Simply login to your Control Center and click on the 'Personal' button. Next, click on the 'Edit Profile' link and look for the heading "Email Address". After entering your email address in the provided space, check off the box next to "Publicize email address" and click on the 'submit' button at the bottom of the page.
